Homeowners and their families can be exposed to asbestos and lead containing materials during renovations in older homes. Prior to 1990 asbestos was commonly used in many building materials and insulation to improve the overall fire protection of the home. Preceding 1970, high concentrations of lead were added to interior and exterior paints. To protect the safety of your family’s health, Lakeside Green Environmental will perform a visual inspection of your home to identify any materials of concern. Samples of suspected materials are then collected and sent for laboratory analysis. If the results of the laboratory analysis confirm either asbestos or lead is present, the homeowner can arrange with a licensed contractor for safe and appropriate removal of the material(s) from their home.
