Environmental Compliance Approval

Environmental Compliance Approval (formerly Certificate of Approval)

Commercial and Industrial facilities discharging contaminants into the natural environment are required under Part II of the Environmental Protection Act to apply to the Ministry of Environment for an Environmental Compliance Approval to demonstrate compliance with regulatory limits. Ministry approval is required for a facility which:

  • emits to the atmosphere,
  • produces noise,
  • discharges to surface waters,
  • draws in excess of 50,000 litres per day from a non-Municipal water source,
  • discharges in excess of 10,000 litres per day to a non-Municipal septic system, and
  • requires on-site remedial activities for soil/ground water contamination.

Lakeside Green Environmental prepares detailed reports based on compiled data and submits the completed report to the Ministry of Environment.
